As everyone is greatly alarmed, the Administrator Han Fu sends out his senior general Pan Feng, but Pan Feng, who goes out with a great axe, is also cut down by Hua Xiong before long. As everyone turns pale and Yuan Shao laments that his senior generals Yan Liang and Wen Chou have not yet arrived, Guan Yu steps forward and says that he will bring back Hua Xiong's head. Yuan Shu shouts that he is a mere archer and should be thrown out, but Cao Cao stops him and has a cup of hot wine poured. Guan Yu tells them to pour the wine and leave it for now, goes out and returns carrying Hua Xiong's head, and the wine is still warm. Yu She's name does not appear again in the Romance after this.
